Three scenarios we often see on the island:
- Apartment from the 1960s in Palma, 90 m², six beams affected. Between €9,000 and €13,000, finished work with replacement finishes.

Put another way: if the concrete is carbonated or the reinforcement corroded, carbon fibre does not solve the underlying problem, because it bonds to a substrate that carries on degrading. That is when a mecanoviga is called for. If what you have is a sound beam that you are going to ask more of, carbon fibre is faster and cheaper. A good engineer will tell you which one applies; be wary of anyone who always offers the same solution.
